1890-1916 - Deutsches Reich - 10 Pfennig
The Pfennig is an old German coin or note, which existed from the 9th century until the introduction of the euro in 2002. The Mark gold currency, introduced in 1873 as currency of the newly founded German Reich, was divided as 1 Mark = 100 Pfennig. This partition was retained through all German currencies until 2001. Following German unification in 1871, the country adopted the German gold mark as its currency in 1873. The name was taken from the mark banco. Coins denominated in gold marks were first issued in 1873, and gradually replaced the old coins. The mark banco was converted into the new gold mark at par. The Bank of Hamburg was incorporated as the Hamburg subsidiary into the newly founded Reichsbank (established 1876), issuing banknotes denominated in gold marks.[2] REF[2] Germany - German Empire (1871-1918) Source: catawiki.com Catawiki number: 4055239 Title: German Empire 10 pfennig 1911 (F) Face value: 0,10 mark (10 pfennig) Variety / overstrike: F Era: Germany - German Empire (1871-1918) Designer: Schultz, Otto, Weigand, Emil Material: Cupronickel (Cupronickel) Diameter: 21 Thickness: 1.35 Shape: Round Obverse: DEUTSCHES REICH 10 • PFENNIG • 1911 Reverse: F F Edge: Plain Mint mark: F (Stuttgart) Number produced: 2.235.000 Krause and Mishler number: KM# 12 REF 10 Pfennig - Wilhelm II type 2 - small shield Source: en.numista.com Features KM# 12 Country Germany - 1871-1948 Years 1890-1916 Value 10 Pfennig (0.1) Metal Copper-nickel Weight 4.00 g Diameter 21 mm Thickness 1.35 mm Shape Round Orientation Medal alignment ↑↑ Demonetized yes REF |
